OBM thinner/High-Temperature Deflocculant -UNITHIN
UNITHIN is used as an OBM thinner and conditioner oil-base muds and has application in all OBM systems. This OBM thinner/High-Temperature Deflocculant reduces viscosity and gel strengths through the action of macro-molecules that deflocculate solids in the mud without the need for dilution or changing the oil-to-water ratio.
UNITHIN liquid form of modified anionic acrylate copolymer deflocculant and thinner for non-dispersed water-based mud to stabilize the rheological properties at temperature up to 234°C (450°F)in the presence of divalent ions and salts.

Applications
UNITHIN is a thinner and fluid conditioner for oil-based muds with high viscosity and gel strengths caused by a high content of colloidal solids. Our OBM thinner/ High-Temperature Deflocculant reduces viscosity and gel strengths through the action of macro-molecules which deflocculate solids in the mud without the need for dilution or changing the oil-to-water ratio when volume increases are undesirable

Recommended Treatment
Typical UNITHIN treatments range from 1 to 2 lb/ bbl (2.85 to5.7 kg/m3) or 14 to 28 gal/100 bbl (3.3 to 6.6 l/m3). Pilot testing is recommended prior to treating the system in order to determine the required concentration and effectiveness of UNITHIN. The product should be added slowly to the system over one complete circulation to ensure an even distribution of the treatment.
Limitations
Avoid overtreatment with UNITHIN. If barite settling is observed, treatments of UNITONE should be used to restore barite suspension capacity.
May not provide long-term viscosity reduction; over a period of time or through the incorporation of additional drill solids, viscosity and gels may return to original levels.
Environmental restrictions concerning the use of oils and oil-based fluids should be considered since UNITHIN is used in conjunction with oil.
